                                               Art Council in Iran
In general, there is not any Arts Council in Iran.
In Iran each section of arts have own Union and these unions help artists to get license or art workshops. In some cases, artists do not communicate directly with the unions, They communicate through the galleries or publishers .
Iranian artists are Independent and unfortunately they don`t have benefits or grants.
Usually they make exhibitions or are art`s teachers in school, university or tutoring.

The most active part of the art in Iran is cinema. And recently there has been progress in the cinema and directory. Iranian people like cinema more than other arts.

Leila Hatami is the Iranian favorite actress. Her father was a famous director and her mother was a actress as well. She played in the movie (The Separate) that got the Oscar last year.

This video is The national anthem of Iran include parts of the best Iranian movies of the last 50 years. I love it and I hope you like too.

  1. Shahla - I changed all your labels to "Arts Organizations" instead of the 2 labels of "Arts Organizations in Guelph" and "Arts Organizations in Iran," This way all your posts can be in the same 'file.' I noticed your longest post has a strange imbedded version of the blog instead of videos. I think we can fix this in class tomorrow. See you then, Lisa

  2. Thank you for sharing the video of the national anthem of Iran. It's very moving (emotion filled). It was very interesting for me to learn that women can't sing solo in Iran. After you told me this, I heard the same information on the radio.
Wow, Leila Hatami is very impressive - 4 languages! She speaks English and French beautifully.
I appreciate learning about Iranian artists. Thank you.
Here's a link to a former student (briefly) at our school. He lives in New Brunswick now.
